I hired Jared Green (President of Approved Contractor Inc.) in May, 2011. Our contract spelled the type of work involved which is removing the wood siding over my garage, paint the front door and all the wood on the outside of the house which includes the fascia and eaves. The contract specified removing the wood siding and replaced it with brown, scratch and finish with a stucco to match the one existing on the rest of the house and to wash, sand and primer all the wood before painting.
Mr. Green subcontracted Rafael Montes who subcontracted three individuals to handle the task. Mr. Green was no where around my house to supervise or oversee the project and “his” crew completed the job in three days. I have no complains for the paint matching or the length of the process however I found out two major issues that contradicted our contract: 1- The crew applied the stucco over the wood siding rather than removing it. Mr. Green answer to my concern was that per his subcontractor (Rafael Montes) leaving the siding behind is to my best interest because it provides maximum protection to my house and that I was informed of the process and gave the go ahead!!! 2- I was present half way during painting the wood around my house and at no time did I see a primer applied. The painter was applying the paint directly from his bucket to dirty wood that wasn’t washed down. There was no sanding, washing or masking applied to prevent over spraying and the gentleman instead was wiping the dirty wood with a rag and holding a cardboard while applying the paint to prevent over spraying!! This is not the first time I hire someone to paint a house, but the first time I’ve seen it done that way. Mr. Green’s answer to my complain, and as Rafael stated to him, was that primer is used and the reason for not washing the wood is because the process will bring the dirt off the wood to the stucco and will make the house look dirty!!!!
I am giving this company one star only because it is the lowest I can give. Doing business with Approved Contractor Inc. is bad business and, for half of what they’ll charge, you can hire someone waiting outside some of the improvement stores looking for labor to do a better job-at least a job that is done your way. By the way, when spelling his last name, Mr. Green refers to himself as “Green such as money.” His actions proved that money is the only thing he cares for and not the quality of the job. Shame on you Mr. Green!!

Approved Contractor, Inc. takes great pride in providing excellent customer service and quality craftmanship at a very competitive price.
Accordingly, we find it necessary to respond to Amir Abdi's comments.
1. Mr.Abdi was informed that Mr. Green would not be at jobsite due to a prior engagement out of town. Mr. Abdi understood this and authorized Approved Contractor Inc. to perform the work.
2. Rafael Montes, lead technician on this project informed Mr. Abdi the existing wood was in good condition and didn't require the removal prior to applying chicken wire and stucco. Mr. Abdi verbally agreed to this process.
3. The fascia boards were hand-cleaned prior to the application of the primer and paint.
4. Approved Contractor Inc. properly covered the home. There was no overspray on this project.
5. Upon Mr. Green's return to Southern California he received written authorization from Mr. Abdi that the job was complete and that his credit card could be charged.
6. Job was completed in a timely and professional manner at a very fair price. We would be more than happy to display this home to customers.
